Schweizer Fernsehen, the official Swiss German broadcaster, has laid out the rules for the country’s Eurovision national finals selection process. 175 entries have cleared the first hurdle and have been accepted to the internet video competition. You can see and hear all those entries HERE. (You can also submit votes for your favorites later this month.)
The five entries that receive the most votes from internet listeners and a professional jury will qualify for the final, where they will also compete with five wild cards submitted from the French language and Italian language Swiss tv broadcasters. Finals will choose the official entry on December 15th. (Watch for details on when and where to watch the Swiss final selections.)
(Update) Two names on the list of qualified video submissions will be familiar to Eurofans. Sweden’s popular dancepop duo Man Meadow has submitted a dancefloor electro stomper called “How Does It Feel” for Switzerland, after having twice been finalists in the Polish national selection. And speaking of Poland, 2011 Polish ESC entrant Magdalena Tul is also competing for the Swiss final with her upbeat dance pop track “Give It Up”.
