After Denmark and Iceland chose their songs for Malmö, this week it was Norway and Finland’s turn. This is really shaping up to be a strong year for the Nordics. Norway lived up to the betting odds and picked the incredibly strong, modern Bond-theme pop song by Margaret Berger, “I Feed You My Love”, and seem to be headed for a top five finish in Eurovision. Margaret was rock-solid onstage, and with a good production number could be near-unbeatable.
Meanwhile Finland didn’t choose widely-tipped Mikael Saari, but went for the light pop of Krista Siegfrids and “Marry Me”. It’s not aimed for any ESC win, but it’s fun and catchy, and could well qualify for the finals.
